A man has died while surfing and two others have died in separate road accidents in the state’s south during a horror weekend for emergency services.
Paramedics rushed to Inyadda Beach near Bendalong at around 5:00 pm on Friday (13 November) where a man had been pulled from the water unconscious.
Surfers attempted to resuscitate the man, believed to be in his 60s, before NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived. However, the man died at the scene.
Officers from the South Coast Police District are investigating the circumstances around his death and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
At around 8:40 am the next day, police were called to a crash near Batemans Bay.
Police say a man, believed to be in his 70s, was driving a Hyundai north on Princess Highway when he collided with a truck travelling south at Bimbimbie.
Paramedics treated the man but he died at the scene. The man is yet to be formally identified.
The 49-year-old truck driver was treated for minor injuries before being taken to Batemans Bay Hospital for mandatory testing.
The Princes Highway was closed in both directions between Tomakin Road in Mogo and Broulee Road in Bimbimbie following the collision.
A third incident occurred on Sunday at around 10:30 am when a 40-year-old ACT man died in a motorcycle crash near Goulburn.
The man was travelling with a group of motorcyclists when he came off his bike on Cullulla Road at Lower Boro and crashed into a tree.
He was given first aid until paramedics arrived. The man died at the scene.
Officers from the Hume Police District are investigating the circumstances around the crash and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
