70-year-old dies in horror crash

A 70-year-old man has died after his utility crashed into a guardrail in Tumbarumba.

Police said emergency services were called to Bago Forest Road, Tumbarumba, following reports of a single-vehicle crash about 2:30 am on Thursday (28 September).

Upon arrival, Riverina Police District officers located a black Ford utility that had crashed into a guardrail. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene despite the efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics.

Police have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.

As inquiries continue, anyone with dashcam footage or information is urged to contact Riverina Police District or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
