Man killed in single-vehicle crash near Young

Police from the Hume Police District have launched an investigation into a single-vehicle crash that killed a man near the Hilltops town of Young today (28 February).

Around midday today (28 February), emergency services were called to a location about 10 kilometres east of Young, near Wambanumba Estate on Murringo Road, after reports a car had left the road and hit a tree.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the scene and treated the man, but he died at the scene.

The man – believed to be aged in his 50s – is yet to be formally identified.

Officers attached to the Hume Police District responded and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

Murringo Road, between Apps Lane and Murringo Gap Road, remains closed to traffic in both directions.

Hilltops Council advised travellers to divert along Moppity Road or Chews Lane.
