Driver dies after luxury car allegedly stolen from ACT crashes in NSW

The driver of a luxury car that was allegedly stolen from the ACT this week died after the vehicle crashed in NSW.

NSW Police said emergency services were called to Lloyds Road at Bathurst at around 10 pm on Wednesday (1 November ) following reports of a single-vehicle crash.

Officers found a Jaguar XE – which had allegedly been stolen from the ACT on Tuesday – had lost control and rolled, ejecting the driver before coming to rest in a nearby paddock.

The driver, a 25-year-old man, was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.

Two passengers – a 20-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man – were taken to Orange Base Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“An investigation is underway into the circumstance surrounding the crash,” a police spokesperson said.

“A report will be prepared for the coroner.”
