Police seek information after stolen Prado dumped in Wollondilly River

Police are appealing for assistance to find up to four men believed to have been involved in the theft of a vehicle from a Goulburn home. The car was later pushed into the Wollondilly River.

Investigations are continuing after a white Toyota Prado was stolen from the driveway of a home on Grafton Street, Goulburn at around 11:30 pm on Tuesday (7 September).

Officers attached to the Hume Police District were notified of the theft and commenced patrols of the area.

At about midnight, the Toyota was observed travelling on Marys Mount Road and a pursuit was initiated after the driver failed to stop and sped off.

The car was driven through the locked gates of a property on Taralga Road before it went down a bike path and a culvert.

Police said the driver and passengers then pushed the vehicle into the river before fleeing on foot.

It’s believed up to four males ran from the scene.
