Motorcyclist dies in crash near ACT border

A man believed to be aged in his 50s has died following a single-vehicle crash just north of Sutton, across the ACT border.

Emergency services were called to Sutton Road, near the intersection of Vaughan Drive, at about 1:15 pm today (Monday, 16 January) following reports a motorcyclist had hit a tree.

Witnesses tried to revive the man before NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived, however the rider died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

A contraflow is in place and motorists have been advised to avoid the area.

A police investigation has begun, with anyone who witnessed or has dashcam vision of the crash urged to call Goulburn Police on 4824 0799 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
