Police are calling for the public’s help after a 67-year-old male cyclist died following a suspected fail-to-stop earlier this week.
Police said emergency services responded to Henry Lawson Way, Grenfell, following reports a cyclist had been found unconscious at about 11:10 am on Monday (25 March).
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the cyclist, however he died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.
Officers attached to The Hume Police District established a crime scene, which was forensically examined by specialist officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit.
Initial inquiries indicate the cyclist, who was wearing high visibility clothing at the time, may have been injured after being struck by a southbound vehicle that failed to stop.
Police believe the collision happened between 8:15 am and 8:30 am on Henry Lawson Way, with the vehicle believed to be travelling from Glenelg to Grenfell.
Police are issuing an appeal for anyone who may have seen an F Series Isuzu truck, with a missing passenger side mirror or damage to the passenger door, to contact police.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
As inquiries continue, police are also appealing for anyone with dashcam footage of the vehicle or anyone with information to come forward and contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
