Police investigating Hume Highway crash which left woman seriously injured

Police have called for witnesses as they continue investigating a two-vehicle highway crash near Marulan.

Emergency services responded to reports of a collision between a truck and a sedan on the Hume Highway, about 500 m south of the Marulan South Road, at about 7 pm on Friday (22 March).

The 77-year-old male driver of the car was treated by NSW Ambulance Service paramedics at the scene.

He was transported to Queanbeyan Hospital suffering from internal injuries.

The vehicle’s passenger, a 64-year-old woman, was trapped with a serious head injury.

She was freed before being flown to Canberra Hospital.

The 37-year-old male driver of the truck was not physically injured and was transported to Goulburn Base Hospital for mandatory testing.

As investigations continue, anyone with information or dashcam footage either of the crash or the time leading up to it has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
