South Pambula crash claims local mans life

An accident involving a cement truck at South Pambula has claimed the life of a 45-year-old local man.

Shortly before 2 pm today (January 22) emergency services were called to a head-on collision on Mount Darragh Road, approximately 3 km west of the Princes Highway.

The driver of the Mitsubishi Mirage, a 45-year-old Nethercote man, died at the scene. The driver of the cement truck, a 59-year-old Cooma man was uninjured. He was taken to South East Regional Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from the South Coast Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, anyone with information is urged to come forward.

A report is being prepared for the Coroner.
