A second South Coast village has been the target of violent crime in just over a week, with police launching an investigation into an armed robbery in Dalmeny on Tuesday night (15 June).

At about 7:00 pm last night, two men armed with a firearm and machete forced entry into Club Dalmeny in Ruth Place, Dalmeny. They then threatened a female attendant who had locked herself in a storeroom.

After the 49-year-old refused to leave the storeroom, the duo fled, taking the woman’s keys and her Holden sedan from the venue’s car park.

Although shaken, the woman was not injured during the incident and contacted police.

Officers from South Coast Police District attended a short time later and established two crime scenes after the woman’s Holden was found abandoned nearby on Acacia Place.

The first man is described as being of thin build, wearing a green hoodie, dark grey tracksuit pants and blue and purple shoes.

The second man is described as being of thin build, wearing a white hoodie, pink rubber gloves, light grey track pants, white shoes and a light blue backpack.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Narooma Police Station on 4479 3500 or CrimeStoppers.

Club Dalmeny management reassured patrons that staff were not harmed during the incident.

“As you may be aware, Club Dalmeny was broken into last night,” they said on their Facebook page.

“We would like to let everyone know that our staff are physically okay, but understandably shaken.

“Club Dalmeny will be closed today, Wednesday 16 June, for obvious reasons, but will reopen on Thursday at 11:00 am as usual. We appreciate your understanding.”

With fewer than 2000 people, Dalmeny is just south of the tiny village of Potato Point, which was the unlikely scene of an alleged home invasion on 7 June.

Investigations into that incident are continuing.
