A 32-year-old male truck driver has died following a single-vehicle crash in Tumut over the weekend.
Police said emergency services were called to the intersection of Snowy Mountains Highway and Gadara Road, Tumut, just after 6 am on Sunday (25 February) following reports of a single-vehicle crash.
On arrival, officers attached to Riverina Police District located a semi-trailer damaged due to a collision with a fence.
It is alleged that a kangaroo jumped in front of the vehicle before the truck was stopped.
The driver died at the scene.
A crime scene has been established, and police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
Traffic was affected in both directions on the Snowy Mountains Highway between Batlow Road and Tumut Street from 7:24 am to 4:16 pm on Sunday.
