Four injured in collision between truck and ute in Boorowa

Four people were injured, three of them critically, when a truck and a ute collided 50 km east of Young.

The smaller vehicle contained three men when it collided with a table-top truck on Long Street, Boorowa, at about 7:50 pm on Wednesday (1 March), NSW Police said.

The ute’s driver and two passengers were critically injured, while the truck’s driver received non-life-threatening injuries.

Three helicopters were called to the scene to transport the driver of the ute to Liverpool Hospital and its passengers to Canberra Hospital when all were in critical condition.

The truck driver, who was in a stable condition, was taken to Canberra Hospital via ambulance.

Police from Boorowa, Young and Grenfell attended the scene, along with Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW Ambulance paramedics, Rural Fire Service and State Emergency Service members.

Crash investigators planned to conduct an inquiry. The road was closed for a time.
