Southern Region police officer charged with domestic violence

A NSW Police officer attached to the Southern Region was charged on Monday with domestic violence offences.

The 45-year-old Sergeant was charged with two counts of common assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The charges relate to multiple domestic incidents that allegedly occurred between 2017 and 2020.

The man is a serving police officer but his duty status is now under review.

He was granted strict conditional bail and will face Moruya Local Court on 13 March.
