A Queanbeyan man has been taken to Canberra hospital after being attacked in his home in the early hours of Tuesday morning (25 September).

Around 4 am, two men knocked on the door of a house on Stornaway Road, Queanbeyan.

When a female resident opened the door, two men barged into the home and attacked a 32-year-old male resident before fleeing the scene.

A Monaro Police District spokesperson said the woman was unharmed but the 32-year-old man was taken to Canberra Hospital in a stable condition.

Police are urging anyone who may have any information about the incident or any information that may help identify the attackers to contact Monaro Detectives (6298 0555) or Crime Stoppers (1800 333 000).
