Police want dashcam footage after alleged hit-and-run near Cooma leaves man in hospital

NSW Police investigating a hit-and-run crash near Cooma are calling for the public to provide dashcam footage from the area.

Emergency services were called to the Snowy Mountains Highway, near Old Dry Plains Road at Cooma, at about 3.40 am on Thursday (24 June) after being told an injured man had been found on the road.

Police said the 36-year-old was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Canberra Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic police.

“Inquiries have revealed the man was hit by a vehicle, not further described, that failed to stop,” NSW Police said.

Police called for anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area, or who may have witnessed the incident, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
