Police have confirmed that one of two men reported missing from the Snowy Valleys region has been located safely, while the search continues for another whose disappearance remains unresolved.

Andrew Bergin, 47, was last seen in Tumut in mid-August 2024 and reported missing in late October. After months of inquiries, police confirmed last week that Mr Bergin was found safe and well in Queensland on 12 December 2024.

However, the whereabouts of Andrew Hawke, 52, remain unknown, and police are renewing their appeal for public assistance to help find him.

Mr Hawke was last seen at Willigobung – a rural locality about 15 kilometres north of Tumbarumba – at around 10:30 pm on Saturday, 31 May 2025.

When he could not be located or contacted, officers from the Riverina Police District were notified and began inquiries into his disappearance.

Andrew Hawke is described as being of Caucasian appearance, approximately 175 cm tall, with a medium build, grey hair and a grey goatee beard. He is known to frequent the township of Tumbarumba.

Police say there has been no further information supplied and enquiries into his whereabouts are ongoing.

They hold concerns for his welfare, describing the situation as out of character.

Anyone with information about Andrew’s whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
