Two men are on the run after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle fleeing the scene of an alleged shoplifting incident in Cooma.

Police were called to a Sharp Street business at about 4 pm on Wednesday (5 July) following reports items were being stolen.

Officers saw a black ute – with two men inside – drive into a pedestrian before fleeing the scene.

The 31-year-old pedestrian was treated by paramedics for leg injuries before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Highway Patrol officers tried to chase the ute, however the pursuit was terminated due to safety concerns.
