An elderly man has died following a two-vehicle collision on the Princes Highway near Conjola overnight.
Emergency services were called to the highway south of Fishermans Paradise Road at about 7 pm on Wednesday (17 May) following reports a Nissan Pulsar and Toyota Corolla had crashed head-on.
Police officers and NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the driver of the Nissan, an 83-year-old man, however he died at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota, a 22-year-old woman, was also treated at the scene before she was flown to St George Hospital in a critical but stable condition.
The highway was closed for several hours as the scene was forensically examined and has since reopened.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, with a report to also be prepared for the information of the coroner.
