A Hawkesbury man has been charged over a fatal crash near Moruya earlier this month.
About 6:50 am on Monday 24 July, emergency services were called to the Princes Highway, Moruya, following reports a Holden Colorado and a Suzuki Jimny had been involved in a head-on crash.
The Suzuki driver, a 33-year-old Narooma man, was trapped for some time before emergency services could free him.
He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.
The Holden driver, a 24-year-old man, and female passenger, aged 24, were also treated and taken to Moruya Hospital for assessment.
The man was transferred to Canberra Hospital for further treatment while the woman was released.
“Officers attached to South Coast Police District established a crime scene which was forensically examined by specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit,” a police spokesperson said.
“On Saturday, the 24-year-old man attended Windsor Police Station and spoke with investigators before being charged with dangerous driving occasioning death.”
The Hawkesbury man was granted conditional bail to appear at Moruya Local Court on Friday 6 October 2023. His licence was also suspended.
