Man dies in Sturt Highway crash

A man has died following a crash in the Riverina.

About 8:10 am today (Tuesday, 30 December 2025), emergency services were called to the Sturt Highway, just past the intersection of Gormans Road, Wagga Wagga, following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to Riverina Police District attended and found a black SUV had run into a parked truck.

The driver and sole occupant of the SUV – a man believed to be aged in his 50s – died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances of the crash has commenced.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
