NSW Police Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives investigating two armed robberies on the state’s South Coast have arrested two men for separate serious offences.

In June 2021, two clubs in Bodalla and Dalmeny were robbed at gunpoint in separate incidents reported to officers from South Coast Police District, who commenced inquiries.

A 41-year-old man has since been charged for his alleged involvement in the Dalmeny robbery, and he remains before the courts.

The matter was then referred to officers from the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad, who started investigations under Strike Force Sansey.

During the investigation, police were made aware of a break-and-enter at a home in Narooma on Monday, 30 August, 2021, and an alleged conspiracy to commit an assault and robbery of a man on the same day.

Following further inquiries, a 36-year-old man was arrested at a unit in Merimbula at about 7:00 am on Thursday, 9 September, 2021.

He was taken to Bega Police Station and charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, break, enter and steal, and possess prohibited firearm.

At about 10:30 am on the same day, detectives also arrested a 40-year-old man on the Princes Highway at Bodalla.
