Police seek witnesses after six injured in two-vehicle crash near Merimbula

A two-vehicle crash over the weekend on the NSW South Coast has left police appealing for witnesses or anyone with information or dash cam footage to come forward.

Emergency services were called to the crash site, which occurred around 11:10 am on Saturday 3 July, on the Princes Highway, Millingandi, about eight kilometres west of Merimbula.

Officers of South Coast Police District attended and commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash in which a black Fiat Freemont and a white Holden Colorado collided. Fire and Rescue NSW also attended the scene.

The 51-year-old female driver of the Fiat and her passengers, two boys, aged 13 and 15, and the driver of the utility, a 62-year-old woman, and her passengers, two girls aged 16, were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to different hospitals for treatment.

The 51-year-old was air-lifted to Canberra Hospital with serious abdominal, leg and internal injuries. She remains in a stable condition.

The 13-year-old boy was taken to South East Regional Hospital before being air-lifted to the Children’s Hospital at Randwick with serious abdominal, spinal and internal injuries. He remains in a serious, but stable condition.

The 15-year-old boy was taken to South East Regional Hospital with bruising to his chest and a broken thumb. He has since been released.

The 62-year-old woman was taken to South East Regional Hospital, with leg and internal injuries.

The two 16-year-old passengers of the utility were also taken to South East Regional Hospital, one with injuries to her arm and shoulder and the other with abdominal and neck and chest injuries.

All three were later transferred to Canberra Hospital and are in a stable condition.

Both drivers underwent mandatory testing.
