South Coast police are calling for witnesses to come forward after a man armed with a hammer robbed a pharmacy in Batemans Bay last week.

Around midday on 27 December, a man armed with a hammer entered the store on Orient Street and threatened staff before stealing medication and fleeing the scene.

The man was last seen driving a white sedan, believed to be a Hyundai Elantra with stolen Victorian registration plates QGK 929, travelling south on Orient Street and then west on Beach Road.

Officers from South Coast Police District have now released CCTV images of a man who police believe may help with enquiries.

The man is between 175cm and 185cm tall, of a solid build, unshaven, wearing a white T-shirt, white cap, blue or green board shorts and was seen with a dog.

Police are warning members of the public not to approach the man or vehicle and to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 if sighted.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or via the NSW Crime Stoppers website.
