Police appeal for dash-cam footage after serious crash near Goulburn

Police are hoping witnesses or dashcam footage can help shed some light on a crash near Goulburn that has left a man in Canberra Hospital in a serious condition.

The accident happened at about 1:30 pm on Saturday 25 September 2021. Emergency services responded to reports of a serious single-vehicle crash on Braidwood Road, Tirrannaville, outside the Wakefield Park raceway, about 8 km south of Goulburn.

Officers attached to The Hume Police District attended and found a man trapped inside a white Toyota HiAce van, which had sustained extensive damage.

The 24-year-old man was airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a serious condition.

Three passengers in the van were not injured in the incident.

Local police established a crime scene and, with assistance from the Southern Region Crash Investigation Unit, began investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

As inquiries continue, police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash – or has dashcam footage from the area – to come forward.

Police are specifically appealing for anyone who was travelling between Tarago and Goulburn between 1 pm and 1:30 pm on Saturday 25 September 2021, and who may have sighted the white Toyota HiAce van with Queensland registration plates.
