UPDATE 12:50 pm – The identity of a man suffering from memory loss has been confirmed.
His full identity has not been made public but family members have gone to The Canberra Hospital, where police confirmed they were related to the man.
The public has been thanked for their help.
9:50 am – ACT Policing is searching for anyone who may know the true identity of a man found in Canberra’s centre who is suffering from memory loss.
He thinks his name is Daniel and he’s believed to be aged in his 30s.
Daniel arrived at the Griffin Centre in Civic at about 3:20 pm yesterday (18 June), where he appeared to be confused. He was then transported to hospital by the ACT Ambulance Service.
He was wearing a yellow/green-coloured t-shirt and grey-coloured pants. He wasn’t wearing any shoes.
Daniel believes he may drive a white vehicle and potentially lives in south Canberra or NSW. He possibly works in an IT or data-related field.
He’s described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175 cm (5’7”) tall, of slim build, and having blue eyes and red/blonde hair.
Anyone who can help police identify Daniel is urged to contact ACT Policing on 131 444, using reference number 8080926.
