A 76-year-old man has died following a two-car collision on the Monaro Highway south of Cooma this morning (13 March).

At about 8:30 am, emergency services were called to Monaro Highway at Rock Flat, about 11km south of Cooma after reports a Toyota Rav4 SUV and an Isuzu Dmax Ute had collided. The Rav4 left the road and hit a fence, became airborne and rolled.

The Toyota driver, a 76-year-old man, was taken to Cooma Hospital but died on arrival. The passenger of the vehicle was airlifted to Canberra Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Isuzu driver, a 22-year-old woman, was uninjured.

Officers from the Monaro Police District attended and established a crime scene.

As inquiries continue, anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to come forward.
