A wide range of innovative business events will be held across the Yass Valley in November as part of Small Business Month with the aim to ‘Connect for Success’.

The program will be run in partnership with the Yass Valley Business Chamber, the Yass Valley Council and will be supported by the NSW Government.

By attending the NSW Small Business Month events, Yass business owners will be invited to learn new skills and ideas to help navigate the path ahead and have the opportunity to collaborate with other business owners across the region.

Yass Valley Council’s acting economic development manager, Georgia Patmore, said the program would see 11 events hosted across the Valley to encourage networking, skills development and support for the local regional businesses.

She said the Small Business Month summed up the paths all commercial operators needed to follow to be successful in industry today.

“The Yass Valley business community holds such a diverse range of knowledge, experience and skills and we have to be able to collaborate and support one another in this current climate to see success in our region,” Ms Patmore said.

“We have two networking events during Small Business Month to promote reconnecting with our business industry and nine workshops that we have contracted knowledgeable service providers to host,” she said.

Secretary of the Yass Valley Business Chamber Jacquie Tewes said the range of workshops and events on offer next month catered to all skill levels.

“Small businesses in our region are our lifeline and we need to be able to support them by coming together, supporting these events and supporting our local service providers who are hosting each of these events,” she said.

There’s a wide range of free events on offer for the Yass Valley business community, designed to suit all, despite size or the products or services available. They will also be held in some of the Valley’s smaller communities, like Murrumbateman, Sutton, Binalong and Bookham as well as in Yass.

Topics to be covered include social media, building a strong brand, upskilling staff, customer focus, growing your business, managing money and retaining good staff.

The program starts on 1 November with a launch at Four Winds Vineyard at Murrumbateman, from 6 pm to 8 pm. The program presenters will be at the launch with all interested Yass Valley business people invited to attend.

Online registration is required for all the events. For more information and workshop registration, go to the website.
