“I’ll remember this phone call forever.”

An Eden woman has entered retirement in the best way imaginable after winning $200,000 in a Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.

The South Coast resident won the guaranteed first prize in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1585, drawn on Thursday 11 August 2022.

When an official from The Lott dialled the NSW woman, she didn’t believe the winning news and had to rush down to a newsagency to check her ticket.

“Oh! Oh my god!” she said.

“If I didn’t check the ticket at the newsagency, I’d be up all night wondering if it’s real. I’d get no sleep!

“I’m in a bit of shock. I must pinch myself to check if it’s real.”

Her winning entry of one random number was purchased at Braddon Newsagency, Mort Street, Braddon.

“I’m visiting Canberra at the moment, and I decided to purchase a ticket while I’m here,” she said. “Canberra seems to be my lucky place!

“I’m retiring now, and I don’t have a lot of superannuation, so this is just amazing.”

The Braddon Newsagency team was overjoyed to have sold the winning entry and wished her all the best with her prize.

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $13.25 million for draw 1586, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $21.99 million for draw 10640.

Last financial year, Australia’s official lotteries contributed more than $1.5 billion via state lottery taxes and donations to help community initiatives, such as hospitals, health research, disaster relief and education.
