Capital region sees third road fatality in matter of days following Braidwood crash

A man has died after his ute ran off the road and rolled near Braidwood overnight.

Emergency services were called to Cooma Road shortly before 8 pm on Monday (17 April), where they found the driver had died at the scene.

He was the only person inside the vehicle.

The man hasn’t been formally identified but is believed to be aged in his 50s.

Monaro Police District officers have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash, with any witnesses or people with dashcam footage urged to come forward.

The man is the third person to die on Capital region roads in a number of days.

A woman died on Monday (17 April) morning in a two-vehicle crash on the Hume Highway north of Goulburn, which closed parts of the road for several hours.

While a man was killed in a collision between a semi-trailer and his ute on the Federal Highway at Sutton, north-east of Canberra, early on Saturday morning (15 April).
