A body has been found during a multi-agency search for a fisherman missing from the Far South Coast.

A NSW Police spokesperson said police were called to a location about 5 km from Boyds Tower at Edrom, south of Eden, at about 5:10 pm on Friday (7 March), after reports a man had been swept off rocks into the water.

Officers attached to Marine Area Command responded, with the assistance of officers attached to the South Coast Police District.

Members of Marine Rescue NSW, SES and Westpac Rescue Helicopter also joined the search.

The search was suspended at about 7:20 pm that evening, before continuing over the weekend.

It resumed on Monday (10 March), with assistance from South Coast Police District, Marine Rescue NSW, NSW Police divers and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

At about 10:15 am, police divers located the body of a man in Leather Jacket Bay, close to where the fisherman was last sighted.

The body is believed to be that of the 34-year-old missing fisherman.

Officers attached to South Coast Police established a crime scene. A report will be prepared for the coroner.
