As investigations into an alleged hit and run in Cooma continue, police have released pictures of a man they think could assist with their inquiries.
An unknown man is accused of entering a Sharp Street clothing store and stealing several items of clothing last month, before jumping into the driver’s seat of a waiting vehicle.
Officers conducting patrols at the time said they saw the vehicle allegedly strike a pedestrian as it drove away from the scene.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle, however the driver allegedly failed to do so. A 15-minute chase followed, which was then called off due to safety concerns.
An older man was allegedly seen in the front passenger seat of the vehicle.
The 31-year-old pedestrian suffered a leg fracture and was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
The vehicle was found abandoned near Shannon Flat Road, Murrumbucca, at about 8:50 pm on the same day (Wednesday, 5 July).
Police have now released images of the vehicle, and of a man they wish to interview.
The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance and aged in his 30s, with medium build, brown hair and a full beard.
At the time he was wearing a green cap, hoodie and black pants.
Anyone who recognises the man or has information into the incident has been urged to call police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
