A Goulburn couple is $20 million richer after securing the only division one winning entry in Oz Lotto.

The pair said they couldn’t describe how they were feeling as news of their win sunk in.

“I’m in tears mate! Every time I think I’m okay, the waterworks kick off again!” the winning husband said.

“I don’t even know what to do with myself.”

They bought their winning ticket from First Inland City Newsagency, Shop B, 140-144 Auburn Street, Goulburn.

When they went back to check their ticket, the husband said the team member looked at him in shock.

“He said, ‘you might need to sit down, mate’.”

The couple said retirement was now beckoning, and they also wanted to share their windfall with their family.

“I’ll set everyone up and make sure they don’t have to worry about anything,” the husband said.

“We’ve always been Aussie battlers. Not anymore, though, I guess!”

First Inland City Newsagency owner Jeanine Chatfield said it was great to see the huge win come to Goulburn.

“I’m pretty sure everyone in town will be talking about it today. It will cause big excitement in the community,” she said.

“We’ve very excited and very happy.”

The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1485 on Tuesday (2 August) were 22, 42, 38, 33, 27, 23, 39, while the supplementary numbers were 4, 37 and 20.
