A woman has died and another person remains trapped following a serious motor vehicle accident on the NSW South Coast.
Emergency services were called to Gerroa Road, between Berry and Shoalhaven Heads, following reports two sedans had collided head-on at about 10:00 am on Tuesday, 22 September.
Three female occupants in one vehicle were treated at the scene. One of the women was declared deceased, while the other two remain in a critical condition and are expected to be airlifted to hospital shortly.
The female driver and sole occupant of the other vehicle remains trapped. She is believed to be in a stable condition as emergency services work to free her.
Officers from the South Coast Police District established a crime scene, which will be examined by the Crash Investigation Unit.
Bolong Road and Gerroa Road remain closed in both directions, with local traffic in place via Coolangatta Road and Beach Road.
The roads are expected to be closed for several hours and motorists are urged to avoid the area, if possible.
