All’s well that ends well in the case of two young possums stolen from a Monaro wildlife carer as the pair have been found and reunited with their carer.
NSW Police said the two juvenile ringtails were stolen from a property on Slacks Creek Road in Coolringdon which is about 20km west of Cooma, some time over the night of 13-14 February.
Their carer contacted police after discovering the male 9-month-old possums, which needed specialised care and treatment due to their age, were missing.
Fortunately, four days later police announced the animals had been found safe and well and thanked the community for their help in locating them.
“No-one has been arrested over the thefts of the possums, but anyone who has information should come forward,” a police spokesperson said.
