A second man has been charged over the murder of a Queanbeyan man ten years after he was murdered and his body found in the Queanbeyan River.
The body of 46-year-old Danny Ralph, a chef and father of five, was located by police divers in the Queanbeyan River on 30 March 2008. Police allege Mr Ralph was assaulted after leaving a Queanbeyan licence club where he worked sometime between 3 am and 5 am on Saturday 29 March 2008.
Detectives from Monaro Police District established Strike Force Potch to investigate the circumstances surrounding the suspicious death.
Just after 1 pm on Wednesday (31 October), a 35-year-old man handed himself in at the Queanbeyan Police Station, where he was arrested and charged with murder.
The Queanbeyan man has been refused bail to appear at Queanbeyan Local Court on Thursday (1 November).
35-year-old Benjamin Wayne Holcroft has already been found guilty for Mr Ralph’s murder.
