Search for merino sheep stolen from Snowy Mountains property

Rural Crime Investigators are asking the community for help as they look into the theft of 53 merino sheep from a property near Jindabyne.

It’s believed the hogget ewes were stolen between the end of September and mid-December 2022 from the property near the intersection of Avonside and Kosciuszko Road, Avonside.

The sheep had yellow NLIS ear tags labelled ”ROMANI” and ”NH630488” in their left ears, along with white management tags in the right ears, at the time of the theft.

The ewes were also branded with a triangle mark cut out of the bottom of their right ears.

Anyone with information that could assist police has been urged to contact Rural Crime Investigator Detective Senior Constable Archie French on 0427 993 314 or via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
