Police investigating fatal house fire near Cowra

NSW Police have began an investigation after a body of a man was found following a house fire near Cowra.

At about 2:20 am on Saturday (25 November), emergency services responded to reports of a house on fire along Alison Drive, Woodstock, roughly 20 km north of Cowra.

NSW Rural Fire Brigade and NSW Fire and Rescue attended the scene and extinguished the fire.

A body of a man was found following an investigation of the property.

The man is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged in his 60s.

Officers from Chifley Police District established a crime scene, which will be examined by specialist police.

NSW Police have urged anyone who has any information to come forward as investigations continue.
