Police investigate 'child killer' graffiti at Vietnam War memorial in Goulburn

Police are investigating after the phrase ‘child killer’ was graffitied at a memorial honouring veterans of the Vietnam War in Goulburn.

It is believed the graffiti, which was on the brick wall above the Vietnam Veteran Shrine at the Belmore Park War Memorial on Market Street in Goulburn, was made last Saturday or Sunday (16-17 August).

“The offensive message, written in texta, was reported by a member of the public,” a Hume Police District spokesperson said.

“Police are currently reviewing nearby CCTV footage and are appealing for dashcam or private CCTV from the area during the timeframe mentioned.”

Investigators are calling for anyone with footage of the location between 5 pm on 16 August and 3 pm on 17 August to contact them.

Goulburn Mulwaree Council was contacted for comment about the matter.
