Update 2 May 3:30 pm: The NSW Police have issued another appeal for information as they search for John Locker. Despite a search by officers attached to Monaro Police District, with assistance from POLAir, the State Emergency Service, Rural Fire Services, NSW Marine Rescue, and ACT Police, he has not been located as of Tuesday.
“Police are now reminding homeowners in the Cooma area and surrounding areas to check outbuildings, including garages, sheds, and other structures,” the spokesperson said.
“For those who have checked earlier in the week, they’re urged to check once again.”
Mr Locker is also known as Tony and may be travelling with his dog, a black and white Border Collie named Sophie.
April 30 11:00 am: Police have called for the public’s help to locate a 77-year-old man missing from the NSW Snowy Mountains region.
John Locker, aged 77, was last seen on Culey Avenue in Cooma at approximately 1 pm yesterday (29 April).
“Unable to be located since, he was reported missing to officers attached to the Monaro Police District, who have commenced inquiries to locate him,” a NSW Police spokesperson said.
“Police and family hold concerns for John’s welfare as he lives with medical conditions which require medication.”
Mr Locker is described as being of Caucasian appearance, approximately 180 to 190 cm tall, of medium build at about 80-90 kg, with short white and grey hair, and brown eyes.
Police believe Mr Locker may be travelling in a 1997 white single-cab Toyota Hilux tabletop with a green stripe up the side and NSW registration WKR789.
He is known to frequent the areas of Carlaminda, Buckenderra, Berridale, Cooma, Numerella, Bobundra, Jindabyne, Adaminaby and Old Adaminaby.
