Relief! With the worst fears of the community put to rest with a 17-year-old missing Batemans Bay girl located safe and well
Estelle McDonald of Catalina hadn’t been seen for two weeks when officers from the South Coast Police District raised the alarm via Facebook yesterday afternoon.
At that stage, Estelle hadn’t been seen since late in the day on April 3 at the Batehaven shops. According to police, she told her father that she was going to use the public toilets before heading home. She did not come home that evening.
Following the public appeal for information, Estelle has returned home.
Commenting on the South Coast Police District Facebook page, Margaret Coombes writes, “Stella Has Been Found Safe and Well… She Is Back Home Now!!!!!!”
Speaking with Region Media, police at Batemans Bay have confirmed the good news.
It appears Estelle was camping with friends at Brou Lake between Dalmeny and Potato Point.
“They ran out of food and money and decided to come home,” the police spokesperson says, indicating a history of similar behaviour.
