A 47-year-old Goulburn man faced Wagga Wagga Local Court over the alleged murder of his mother from Sydney’s west.
Nadire Sensoy, 71, disappeared from her Prospect home in December of 2018.
Officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command established Strike Force Admiralty to investigate the disappearance after her family reported her missing.
As part of their inquiries, Strike Force Admiralty detectives made a public plea along with the NSW Government for help and announced a reward of $350,000 for information in 2020.
A coronial inquest into the woman’s death began on 13 March but was suspended soon after due to new information coming to light.
Following further inquiries, police arrested Selim Sensoy at Wagga Wagga Police Station today (21 March).
He was charged with murder (DV) and refused bail at Wagga Wagga Local Court.
Sensoy will appear at Blacktown Local Court on 23 May.
Investigations under Strike Force Admiralty are ongoing.
