A man has died after it is believed his car hit trees, causing it to roll on Saturday evening (31 August) near Sutton Forest McDonalds.

Around 9:10 pm, a motorist travelling along the Hume Highway at Sutton Forrest, about 400m north of Sallys Corner Road, saw a crashed Mazda utility on the median strip of the Highway.

Police believe the vehicle was travelling northbound when it left the road and collided with trees, causing it to roll.

The male driver was declared deceased at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.

Officers from the Hume Police District attended and established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic police.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash continue and anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact Southern Highlands Police Station on (02) 4869 7899 or NSW Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
