A man has been charged after a woman was allegedly stabbed at a Shoalhaven home.

A NSW Police spokesperson said that emergency services were called to a house on Park Drive in Sanctuary Point at about 7:55 pm on Tuesday (26 November) following reports of a domestic incident.

Officers attached to South Coast Police District attended and allegedly found a 25-year-old woman with stab wounds.

“Police were told the woman was injured while attempting to separate two men who were involved in a scuffle at the house,” the spokesperson said.

The woman was treated at the scene before being taken to Shoalhaven Hospital in a stable condition.

Police established a crime scene and have opened inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A 31-year-old man, who the police spokesperson said left the scene before officers arrived, was arrested a short time later on Allison Parade in Nowra, following a pursuit.

He was taken to Nowra Police Station, where he was charged with contravening prohibition/restriction in AVO (domestic), aggravated break and enter and committing serious indictable offences – armed, police pursuit – not stop – driving at speed and breaching bail.

He was refused bail to appear before Nowra Local Court today (27 November).
