A Goulburn retiree awoke on the morning of Monday, 10 May, to discover she was $1.8 million richer after picking the winning Lotto numbers from Saturday night.

An official from The Lott called the unsuspecting winner, who had no idea her life was about to change.

“Oh my god!” she shouted. “We’ve won Lotto? $1.8 million dollars – that’s jolly good!

“I had absolutely no idea. It was Mother’s Day yesterday and I hadn’t even thought to check my ticket.

“I’m ecstatic – this is incredible. I don’t know what to say.

“Oh my goodness me. I am so overwhelmed.”

With $1.8 million about to hit her bank account, the mother and grandmother said she’d enjoy her prize with her family.

“A new boat is at the top of the list,” she laughed. “Honestly, I have no idea [how to spend the money]. We will have to really think about it.

“We live a pretty simple life, but now we will be able to really help our children and grandchildren. It’s incredible.”
