UPDATE: Body believed to be that of missing South Coast man found

UPDATE 12:15 pm – Police believe they have found the body of missing man, James Wiggins.

A body was found by South Coast Police District officers on Cemetery Road, Narooma, just before 8:30 am today (Tuesday, 26 July).

While the body has not been identified yet, it’s believed to be Mr Wiggins.

Police said initial inquiries indicated his death was not suspicious.

A report would be prepared for the coroner.

26 JULY, 7:45 am – Mass text messages have been sent by police as part of efforts to find missing 59-year-old man James Wiggins.

Mr Wiggins was last seen at about 9 am on Monday (25 July) at a unit on Clarke Street, Narooma, and was reported missing after he failed to attend a medical appointment in Moruya.

Police said they held “serious concerns” for his welfare, as Mr Wiggins had a medical condition.

He’s described as being of Caucasian appearance, with a medium build, short fair hair and light-coloured eyes.

He was last seen wearing a white Sydney Swans jumper and was known to frequent the Narooma and Bermagui areas.

If you have received a text message from +61 444 444 444 asking for help to find Mr Wiggins, this was not a scam.

Anyone with information about Mr Wiggins’ location has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
