A former school counsellor has been charged over the alleged assault of two students at a high school on the Far South Coast.
For 12 months, officers from South Coast Police District having been investigating reports two girls – aged between 13 and 15 – had been assaulted by a school counsellor.
Following extensive inquiries, detectives arrested a 55-year-old man at Narooma Police Station just before 11am on 13 August 2020.
He was charged with four counts of common assault.
Police will allege the man physically assaulted the girls during counselling sessions between 2016 and 2018. He was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Narooma Local Court on 17 September 2020.
