Firearm parts, drugs found in Catalina

A man has been charged with firearm and drug offences following a search warrant on the state’s South Coast.

About 4 pm on 20 August 2020, officers from the South Coast Police District Proactive Crime Team stopped a vehicle on Country Club Drive, Catalina.

During a search of the 21-year-old driver, police allegedly located prohibited drugs and prescription medication. He was arrested and taken to Batemans Bay Police Station.

Following further inquiries, officers executed a search warrant at a home on Albatross Road, Catalina, a short time later.

Police allegedly located and seized firearm parts, ammunition, cash, electronic devices and two 3D printers. These items will undergo forensic examination.

The 21-year-old man was charged with three counts of supplying a prohibited drug, possessing firearm parts without authority, two counts of possessing ammunition without a licence and possessing a prohibited weapon.

He was refused bail and appeared at Batemans Bay Local Court on Friday, where he was granted conditional bail to appear at Batemans Bay Local Court on 14 September 2020
