Eurobodalla’s COVID-19 outbreak spreads to Bega Valley Shire

The Eurobodalla shire’s COVID-19 outbreak has now spread to the neighbouring Bega Valley Shire, with three cases reported in the 24-hours to 8 pm yesterday.

The three cases in Beauty Point are all linked to known cases in the Eurobodalla.

They were included in the 21 new COVID-19 cases in the Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) for the 24 hours to 8.00 pm on 3 October.

The other cases were:

  • 11 in the Queanbeyan-Palerang region – eight linked to known cases. (Two were in Queanbeyan, seven in Karabar, one in The Ridgeway, and one in Wamboin).
  • Seven in the Snowy Monaro region – six linked to known cases. One in Jindabyne, five in Cooma and one in Bredbo.

There was one new confirmed case of COVID-19 in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District reported in NSW Health’s numbers today.

The case is a resident of the Hilltops Local Government Area. They are a household contact of a previously reported case and have been in isolation.

This brings the total number of cases in the Hilltops LGA to 25.

Across the state, there were 623 new locally acquired cases and six deaths.

One person was in their 40s, three people were in their 60s, one person was in their 70s and one person was in their 90s.

Four people were not vaccinated, one person had received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and one person had received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.

The person who had received two doses of a COVID-19 was a woman in her 90s who died at Hawkesbury Living nursing home.
