Envirohunt activity sheets are a welcome addition to the summer holidays in the Eurobodalla and give parents and carers the bait they might be looking for to lure kids away from screens.
These free guides from Eurobodalla Shire Council allow local and visiting families to explore the region’s beaches and estuaries at their own pace.
The Envirohunt activity sheets are available on Council’s website and can be printed or downloaded setting your family up for a beach-side treasure hunt of the natural world.
Sheets are available for:
- Broulee Island;
- Congo Point;
- Tomaga Estuary;
- Narooma Estuary;
- Shelly Beach;
- Surfside Beach;
- Barlings Beach.
Each is tailored to the specific location and are designed to help families understand and connect with Eurobodalla ecosystems.

Council’s Environmental Education Officer, Bernadette Davis says the activity sheets help parents answer their kid’s inevitable questions as they poke about on local beaches – “What is that? What does it do?”
“These are fun activities that help families value the environment where they live and holiday, and can ignite a life-long interest in the natural environment,” Ms Davis says.
“All it costs is a bit of time and effort.”

The activities and information touch on natural landforms, interesting plants and animals you’re likely to find, and Indigenous and colonial history. Kids will learn about different shells, and seaweed, as well as beach creatures, birdlife, algae and more.
