The free COVID-19 testing clinic in Yass has been relocated from the hospital to the former Landmark building at 1-5 MacDonald Street.

The new site is a drive-through clinic, providing easier access for the community, and is open from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 12 pm.

Yass resident Allie McClure visited the new clinic last week after feeling unwell.

“It was different to the previous clinic, I didn’t need to get out of the car for this one and so it felt faster than when it was at the hospital,” Ms McClure said. “It was a little awkward being swabbed from the car but I had no difficulties.”

So far, 2129 people have been tested for COVID-19 in Yass. Of those, there have been six confirmed cases and one of those is still active.

The active case is one that has been ongoing since March, a Southern NSW Local Health District spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said the person was no longer infectious but was still displaying symptoms, such as a cough or shortness of breath, since testing positive.

“Such is often the lingering case with this illness,” the spokesperson said.

There are also free COVID-19 testing clinics in Goulburn, at Goulburn Base Hospital, 130 Goldsmith St, from 9 am to
5 pm daily, and in Crookwell, at Crookwell Hospital, 19 Kialla Road, from 8 am to 4:30 pm every Tuesday.

NSW Health is advising anyone with symptoms, including a cough, sore or scratchy throat, shortness of breath, loss of taste, loss of smell or fever, to get tested. It’s also advised to get tested more than once if you have symptoms at different points in time.
